This policy explains how Commune collects and uses your personal data when you visit our website or contact us, and the rights you have over it. We have written it to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), because many of our members and guests travel from Europe.
Commune is a coworking, coliving and community space at Rose Apple Square, Siem Reap, Cambodia. Commune is a brand of Urban Living Solutions Co., Ltd. ("ULS", "we", "us"), which is the data controller for the personal data described here.
We only collect what you give us through our forms or messages, plus the basic technical data any website needs to work.
When you use our contact form: your name, email address, phone number, the topic of your enquiry, a preferred date, the number of people, and your message.
When you enquire about hosting an event: your name, email, phone number and organisation; the type of event, dates, times, expected guests, room setup and equipment you need; your budget; how you heard about us; and anything else you choose to tell us.
When you contact us another way (email, phone, WhatsApp, social media): the details you share with us in that conversation.
When you visit the website: your IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested and the time of your visit. Our hosting provider records this in server logs to deliver and secure the site. If you accept analytics cookies, we also see which pages you visit and which buttons you use, such as calling us, emailing us or opening directions.
Please do not send us sensitive information (such as health details or ID documents) through the website forms. If we need ID for a coliving stay or membership, we will ask for it separately and explain how it is handled.
GDPR requires a legal basis for each use. Ours are:
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies, in four groups:
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Until you say yes, they set no cookies: Google Analytics and Google Ads only send a basic, cookieless signal that a page was viewed. Saying no is as easy as saying yes. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings.
Our cookie banner is provided by CookieYes, which keeps a record of your choice so we can show we asked. The full list of cookies on this site, with their names, purposes and how long each lasts, appears below. CookieYes scans the site regularly and updates the list when we add new features.
We share personal data only with people and services that help us run Commune, and only as much as they need.
We may also share data with professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, auditors) under a duty of confidentiality, or with authorities when Cambodian law requires it. If ULS or Commune is sold or restructured, data may pass to the new owner under the same protections.
We are based in Cambodia, so if you are in the EU your data will be transferred outside the European Economic Area when you contact us. The European Commission has not issued an adequacy decision for Cambodia.
We transfer your data to Cambodia because it is necessary to answer your enquiry and to provide the stay, membership or event you ask for (GDPR Art. 49(1)(b)). Data processed by our service providers in the United States is protected by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified (Webflow states that it is: Webflow EU privacy policy), or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
You can ask us for more detail on these safeguards using the contact details in section 9.
We keep personal data only as long as we need it, then delete or anonymise it.
If you are in the EU or EEA, you have the right to:
To use any of these rights, email us at hello@urbanlivingsolutions.com. We will reply within one month, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first. Exercising your rights is free.
You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in the EU country where you live or work. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first, but you do not have to contact us before complaining.
Children. Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Security. We use access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and reputable service providers to protect your data. No system is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information through web forms.
Changes. We may update this policy when our website or services change. We will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date, and tell you directly if a change significantly affects you.
